6.The influence of asymmetric electrodeposition voltage on the microstructure and magnetic properties of FexCo1-x nanowire arrays   Original Research Article
Journal of Crystal Growth, In Press, Accepted Manuscript, Available online 19 May 2011
A. Ramazani, M. Almasi Kashi, S. Kabiri, M. Zanguri

Highlights

FexCo1-x nanowire arrays were prepared by both the symmetric and asymmetric ac electrodeposition method in AAO templates. The crystalline structure of the nanowires shows a bcc structure with a <110> preferred orientation. The energy dispersive spectroscopy analysis reveals the alloy composition is frequency independent and changes by Co and Fe ions concentration of the electrolyte. The growth rate of nanowires was enhanced with increase in reduction/oxidation voltage difference while the highest coercivity was found for the samples fabricated with symmetric potentials. It was found that in lower frequencies region alloy composition is more sensitize to the Fe and Co ions concentration.

R.S. Chauhan, D.C. Agarwal, S. Kumar, S.A. Khan, D. Kabiraj, I. Sulania, D.K. Avasthi, W. Bolse

Highlights

► In this paper, we have observed the self-organisation phenomenon (nano/ micro-patterning) of the surface of NiO thin films on different substrates (SiO2, Si and Al) using 100 MeV Ag ions at LN2 temperature and at large incidence angle with the beam axis. ► AFM images of ion-beam irradiated samples show the restructuring of initially flat and coherent NiO film into an almost periodic NiO lamellae structure. ► The quite regular lamellae with width, height and average distance of hundreds of nm are oriented perpendicular to the beam direction. ► Section analysis of the AFM images reveal that the width of the lamellae is less in case of NiO films deposited on SiO2 substrate in comparison to Al substrate. ► The cracking and the development of lamellae structure is observed at higher fluence in the case of Al substrate in comparision to other substrates.
